The guy who’s owned & operated Doris & Ed’s
for the last 30 years is neither Doris nor Ed.
He's Jim Filip, connoisseur of fine wines, sunrise shopper at the Fulton Fish Market, winner of the prestigious James Beard Award, and regular guy.
When he bought Doris & Ed’s seafood restaurant in 1978 Jim had a mission to transform the traditional fish house into a premiere dining experience. The many awards he has received are testimony that he has achieved his goal.
Doris & Ed’s was the first New Jersey restaurant to receive the coveted James Beard Award of Excellence as an "America’s Regional Classic". His restaurant has been featured in nationally recognized publications including Gourmet, Bon Appetit and the New York Times. His renowned wine list has been awarded the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence every year since 1985 (that’s 23 years in a row!)
